Welcome to Hub City K-9 Club's official website. We are a non-profit organization. We train in Lubbock, Texas. We are a full member club of Protection Sports Association (PSA). We promote and train dogs to compete in multiple dog sport including but not limited to PSA and Nose Work (Detection). We also support the use of working dogs for Police K-9, Schutzhund, Mondioring,French Ring, Detection, Search and Rescue, Therapy, and other areas of work for which dogs are utilized.
Protection Sports Association
PSA provides an outlet for civilian competition in Obedience and controlled Protection. Heavy decoy and environmental pressures of the sport requires dogs of strongest nerve and clearest head to overcome distractions and at the same time perform multiple tasks given by the handler. Upper level competitions are all surprised scenarios, no routine.
Nose Work (Detection)
This is a new sport in the dog world, and is spreading like wildfire throughout the United States. Dogs have an amazing sense of smell and a natural desire to hunt. The sport of Nose Work is designed to develop your dog’s natural scenting abilities by using their desire to hunt and their love of toys or food. It’s a great way for your dog to have fun, build confidence, and burn lots of mental and physical energy.
Hub City K-9 also encourages and promotes sportsman-like competition at trials and training sessions. Our club prides itself on working together as a team to accomplish our goal: "Train our dogs to their full potential and have fun doing so". We encourage our members to be motivated trainers, always support each other, have a sense of humor, and train our dogs to the best of the handler/dog ability.
We provide training in Obedience, Protection, and Detection. Our official training sessions are Sunday (4 pm).
Visitors are welcome. If you would like to visit our club, please contact us for more information. Non-Members may participate in training sessions at the discretion of the Training Director or Assistant Training Director for a fee of $10 a session.
